THIS is what Akshay Kumar has to say about donating Rs 25 crore to COVID-19 relief donation

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar won everyone's heart after the actor generously donated Rs 25 crore to the Prime Minister's Care Fund for the country's ongoing battle against COVID-19. While even her wife Twinkle Khanna was seen raving about her husband's charitable action, the actor simply has no airs about the same. In an interview with a news portal, Akshay Kumar reportedly said that this wasn't his contribution, this was his mother's to Bharat Maa. The actor also added that he cannot really express his reason behind contribution to a cause like this.

Elaborating further, Akshay also added that there is a widespread fear that the senior population of the country might be isolated, ignored and left to fend for themselves during this coronavirus disease. However, the actor cannot fathom how anybody can even think like that. He also added that his mom's life is important and so is the life of everyone's parents. Apart from Akshay, several other Bollywood actors too came forward to contribute generously to the cause. Not only this, a fund was also set up by Bollywood authorities to provide some help to those who have been affected.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay has his hands full with some very interesting projects. He will next be seen in Rohit Shetty's 'Sooryavanshi'. The actor will be seen reuniting with his 'Namaste London' co-star Katrina Kaif in the movie.

This is the first time that Akshay and Katrina are working with Rohit Shetty. The movie is the next film in Rohit's cop universe. It also features special cameos of Ajay Devgn's 'Singham' and Ranveer Singh's 'Simmba'.

The movie was slated to hit the tehatres on March 24, however, it got pushed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Apart from this, he also has films like, 'Laxmmi Bomb', 'Bachchan Pandey' and 'Bell Bottom'.
